Joli, Chief Office Administrator, Certified Dental Assistant
Joli — it’s pronounced Yoli — joined the Root Dental team after relocating to Vero Beach in 1998. She began her career with us as a certified dental assistant and is now the chief office administrator. She holds a BS in Special Education and dedicates time to mentoring children in the community. When she’s not working, Joli enjoys nature and travel — especially engaging in activities with her husband and daughters. They enjoy day trips to the beach, area springs, and state parks. Joli also loves to read and run.
Sandy, Business Administrator
Sandy was born and raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, but she has lived in places from coast to coast. She has more than 20 years’ experience as an administrator and more than ten years’ experience in the dental profession. She relocated to Vero Beach in 2013 and joined Root Dental in November 2014. Sandy is a family-oriented individual, and she is married with one son. A lover of the outdoors, she enjoys coastal living and all that Vero has to offer. When she is not working, you may spot Sandy at the beach or out listening to music.
Tina, Certified Dental Assistant
Tina spent her childhood in Mississippi and returned to Indian River County as a young adult. She has served Dr. Root and his patients since she became a Certified Dental Assistant in 2003. As the proud mother of two adopted children, she enjoys giving back to the community whenever she can. Her areas of certification include dental radiography, expanded functions, biomedical waste control, and CPR. As Dr. Root’s lead assistant, Tina manages clinical functions: she reviews and authenticates dental charts for optimal patient care, tracks lab cases, and orders supplies. She loves the bond that develops with patients and looks forward to caring for you and your specific needs.
Wendy, Business Administrator
Wendy was born in Honduras and relocated to Vero Beach when she was eight years old. She said she has no interest in ever leaving Vero Beach because she loves it so much here. When asked about her family, Wendy said she was blessed with three beautiful daughters, an amazing and loving husband, and a “to die for” puppy named Mia. She joined Root Dental in January 2017 after working in the dental field for two years, and she said she absolutely loves her work family. When she is not working, she loves traveling and exploring different cuisines, but she feels that spending time with her family is the most important thing. She also dedicates time to serving at her church and in another volunteer project that helps others.
Nicole is a Registered Dental Hygienist and has been with Root Dental since 2013. She is also a wife, mother of three, certified stand-up paddle board instructor, Special Olympics surf and SUP coach, and certified yoga instructor with a passion for working with people (Whew!) Originally from New Jersey, she has lived in Florida for more than 14 years. “I have been fortunate to be a member of the Root Dental Team for three years now. I thoroughly enjoy caring for people and helping them find ways to care for themselves. Within this practice, I have been able to build many personal and professional relationships with my patients and coworkers. Because of this, I am one of those people who can say I love my job!”
Nancy has been a Root Dental hygienist since 2006, and has been a hygienist in Vero Beach for over 25 years. She says, about her job, “If you could understand the rigorous process that Dr. Root goes through in choosing his staff, then you would understand why each of us is so proud to serve with him. Our practice continually tries to provide the best customer service and quality to every patient, every day. And that has always been the cornerstone of our practice. Besides being a hygienist, I am a proud mother of three of the best kids ever, and no, I’m not biased. I recently became an empty-nester and I have found a new hat to wear; it’s volunteer work! I’m excited to be getting my fingers dirty, learning how to garden in a community garden that serves the hungry, and I’m dusting off my crocheting skills by making shawls for cancer patients. It feels great to give back — try it sometime if you can. Paying it forward makes a body feel good!”
